Does Your Detailing Business Actually Need a Website?

I get asked this by other detailers, so here is my honest answer — not from a marketing course, but from running Prime Shine Mobile Detailing in Virginia Beach and building its website myself.

What I had before was worse than nothing

Before Prime Shine Detail existed, I had one Google Word doc website. It was looking bad and unorganized. I even had a QR code, but customers weren't checking my site.

Two reasons:

  1. It looked bad.
  2. It looked like a scam.

That is the part most people miss. I wasn't just missing out on customers who couldn't find me. I was handing people a QR code that sent them somewhere that made them trust me less than if I had no website at all.

Building the real one took a month

It took me a month to build my first website. Every time I published, I upgraded and upgraded until I learned and finalized customer choices and SEO progress. It took time, but it taught me from the roots.

What changed after it went live

I didn't have a real website and SEO progress for almost 5–6 months. Once I made it, a couple of days after, people started actually checking my website.

  • The next week I got 1 customer.
  • Two weeks later I got 3 customer orders.
  • And now, currently, people occasionally book or contact me through the website.

That is the real progression. Not overnight, and not nothing.

I know the struggle because I was in it

If you don't know what you're doing, even if you work on your website every day, you will walk in the same place every day. I learned through everyday learning and improving.

I know your struggle — I've been there. I am not just trying to sell you a website. I will make you more business and more leads, because I know how hard you struggle, and there are a bunch of scammer ads and everything. I've been there.

So — straight up, is it worth it?

If you're still thinking about whether you need it or not, I will tell you straight up: this is an investment for your business.

We can make you a website, we can manage your SEO progress. You will start to see your result in a couple of days, but the actual gold you will find 3 months later. The actual diamond you will find 9 months later. As the months pass by, your website will be more of an investment with us, because we will build your website and also guide your SEO progress.

Questions detailers ask me

Do detailers really need a website if they get jobs from Instagram?

Social media brings you attention, but it doesn't hold your prices, your service areas, your reviews and your booking in one place a customer can check at 9pm before they decide. A website is what someone looks at when they are deciding whether to trust you with their car.

How long before a detailing website brings in customers?

In my own case, people started checking the site within a couple of days, I got one customer the following week and three orders two weeks after that. The bigger results from SEO come around the 3 month mark, and the real compounding around 9 months.

Is a template website good enough for a detailing business?

A template can look fine. The problem is it usually doesn't handle the things that actually get you booked: clear pricing, a page for each city you serve, your Google reviews on the page, and booking the customer can complete themselves.
